Hello Business Bestie,

April is Financial Literacy Month and is the perfect time to take control of your finances and fund your next big move. Whether you are building a business, launching a passion project, or expanding your reach, access to capital can make all the difference. That’s why each month, we deliver a curated list of grants, accelerators, and pitch competitions so you can focus on growing, not Googling.

There are grants for Black business owners, women entrepreneurs, nonprofit organizations, schools, parks and recreation departments, amateur sports programs, professional writers, visual artists, and filmmakers. Plus, there are pitch opportunities and real chances to get in front of decision-makers. We have curated the kind of support that helps you get paid and keep going.

1. Impact Funding Solution

Big change starts with small sparks and this grant is here to light the fire. IMPACT Grants are awarded quarterly to organizations making waves in their communities. Whether you're tackling local challenges or launching bold initiatives, this grant is designed to back mission-driven work that moves the needle. One nonprofit and one business are chosen each round, with a smooth online application process and quick funding turnaround. If you're creating real impact, this one's for you.

2. Famous Amos Ingredients for Success (IFS)

Bigger than cookies, this annual initiative is all about baking up success for early-stage Black business owners. Inspired by Wally Amos’ legacy, IFS offers a powerful mix of mentorship, networking, and educational resources to help you grow your business with confidence. To apply, bring your story to life in a short video pitch. Ten finalists will be chosen, and from there, three standout winners will receive a grant plus access to the tools, guidance, and connections that turn vision into longevity. If you're ready to be seen, supported, and celebrated, this is your moment.

Amount: $50,000 each

Eligible locations: United States

3. PEN America U.S. Writers Aid Initiative

When life throws writers a curveball, PEN America steps in with the U.S. Writers Aid Initiative, a safety net for authors, poets, playwrights, translators, and journalists facing sudden financial hardship. This grant offers short-term emergency support to professional writers with a solid track record of publication or production. It's not for creative projects, but for helping writers stay afloat when the unexpected hits. Think of it as literary lifeline funding, by writers, for writers.

Amount: $500-1000
